A human in a silhouette
Et menneske i silhuet is a video work created for the Danish experimental jazz group CAKTUS. It was made in close dialogue with the saxophonist, clarinetist and composer Maria Dybbroe (DK), who wanted the texture and atmosphere of the sound to be interpreted through the medium of dance.
The movement material was created through a specific procedure of listening to the track while responding in the mediums of writing, moving, or drawing. In that way different interpretations and outcomes were gathered and generated which eventually developed the quality of the material. It was recorded within one day in the beautiful frames of KHiO’s art space formrummet in Oslo.
